Each week over 300 vendors are there selling a wide variety of goods, from fresh fruit and vegetables to secondhand goods, furniture, clothing, art, plants and trees, food and beverages.
There is plenty of parking and we are just 15 minutes drive from the central city

Cheapskates are proudly hosting seven skateboard events in various city locations over the summer months.
All the events will feature an element of competition however tuition and participation are the main goals of each event. Highlights of the series will be the New Zealand Skateboard nationals held on the 28th of November at Washington skate park and the international phenomena that is; The Volcom Wild In The Parks Skate series, 23rd of January, again held at Washington reserve.
Come down and have a roll with the Cheapskates Demo team, and be prepared for a great summer of Skateboarding.

This 16-team tournament, which is seen as an important breeding ground for the next generation of senior international cricketers, will take place in New Zealand from 15 to 30 January.
There will be a number of matches played at Lincoln, QEII Park and MainPower Oval in Rangiora.

For 17 years, the pavements of Christchurch have been springing into life during the annual World Buskers Festival. The best street artists from across the continents amuse, bewilder and captivate crowds with their unique street theatre skills, stand up comedy, acrobatics, contortionism and crazy stunts.
The sheer global reputation of the World Buskers Festival results in a programme of events and line-up of acrobatic, circus, street and comedic acts that is literally out of this world. Arriving in Christchurch from all corners of the globe (Australia, Canada, USA, UK, Netherlands, South America and, of course, New Zealand), the World Buskers Festival sees Christchurch overrun with such award-winning artists as alums of the international circus troupe Cirque de Soleil, the Blue Man Group and the Big Apple Circus, as well as the gamut of up-and-coming local, national and international busking, circus and comedic talent.

International superstar Ronan Keating will undertake his first concert tour of New Zealand in years when he returns to our shores in February 2010.
The tour’s very special guests will be the wonderful Peter Urlich Sextet and performing solo, up and comer Matt Joe Gow.

Warriors at Wigram 2010 is the theme for the Air Force Museum's annual Open Day. This upcoming Open Day will feature flying displays by the Royal New Zealand Air Force alongside displays by the Royal New Zealand Navy and New Zealand Army.
Flying displays will include the Iroquois, Classic Harvard, Red Checkers Acrobatic Team and the Kiwi Blue Parachute display Team. These displays will be coupled with static ground displays which allow you to get up close and personal with the modern equipment of the current Defence Force.
Faith No More

Faith No More will play two New Zealand shows in February, it has been confirmed.
The reformed rock act will perform at Christchurch's Westpac Arena on February 16, and Vector Arena in Auckland on February 18, before heading to Australia to headline the Soundwave festival.
The band, led by singer Mike Patton and famous for hits like Epic and Midlife Crisis, announced the dates on its website.
The band broke up in 1998, but reformed earlier this year and has played several European festival dates.

New Zealand’s five-day premier garden party, the Ellerslie International Flower Show will descend on the garden city of Christchurch for the second consecutive year from 10 – 14 March, 2010.
The Ellerslie International Flower Show is the Southern Hemisphere’s largest and most prestigious garden show attracting a global audience of around 80,000 people to North Hagley Park in Christchurch.
All the Show’s favourites will return for 2010 including the Hort Galore Marquee, Floral Art Marquee, Country Living Marquee and Starlight Marquee along with the Zealandia Horticulture National Flower Bed Competition.
